Our mission at HPUMC is to help you grow in your faith by becoming a more deeply devoted follower of Jesus Christ. We believe that one of the biggest ways to do that is through attending worship.

That’s why we’re taking a look back at the most-watched messages of 2019! Spoiler alert: marriage and love were on a lot of peoples’ minds this year.

So, grab your journal, a cup of coffee, and watch (or re-watch) a message that speaks to you!

1. Five Habits of a Broken Marriage
Marriage is more about who you are than who you are with. Becoming the right person is always better than finding the right one. But even when we understand that principle, marriage is still a challenge. After all, roughly half end in failure. In this popular sermon, Rev. Paul Rasmussen discusses some of the most common habits of broken relationships.

2. Start with the Why
Most of us are in a marriage, used to be in one, or want to be in one. And, to be sure, we're all affected in some way by one. Marriage is a big, big deal. Marriage is also a big, big challenge. In this message, Rev. Paul Rasmussen takes a look at some principles from Scripture that might just make your marriage less complicated and maybe even great.

3. Flying Through Turbulence
Jesus gave us a radical, new commandment: love people the way that Christ loved us. That’s how others will know that we are people of faith. In this message, Rev. Paul Rasmussen shares that no matter who you are, you are welcome and will be loved at HPUMC, and as Christians, we can feel secure in the face of uncertainty because of our unity in Christ.

4. Close the Gap
Marriage. What if it wasn't as complicated as we think? What if a thriving marriage was closer than we realize? Turns out there are some pretty simple things we can do to stoke the fires of love. Tune in as Rev. Paul Rasmussen takes a look at some essential habits of a terrific marriage. And remember, even if you aren't married, or you used to be married, there is plenty to learn.

5. A Better Option
Like many other people, Rev. Paul Rasmussen admits that he is consumed by worry all the time. So many things to be done, so many problems to solve. Go ahead and add on the stress of the world around you and it seems like life is unmanageable. So, what do we do? We worry about it. If you can’t seem to let go of worry, check out this message.

6. Be the BEST Person for YOUR Person
Rev. Matt Tuggle kicked off The Marriage Project by sharing some things that can help you prepare for the next season of your romantic life. For some, the next season is dating, for some, it is engagement and marriage, for some, it is simply the next season of your marriage, as life continues to evolve it brings with it new experiences and challenges.

7. Choice is Yours
Joy. It seems like it’s nearly extinct. How many truly joyful people do you know? With all of the anger, cynicism, frustration, and disagreement that seems to have taken over the world, joy often appears out of reach. While hostility gains a deeper foothold every day, Rev. Paul Rasmussen shares a message for anyone who is exhausted by living without joy.

8. The Idol of Romantic Love
Romantic love is a gift from God. It's not something sinister and seedy that we stumbled upon by accident. But if romance and intimacy are part of God's plan, why do they seem to cause so much pain and so many problems? In this message, Rev. Paul Rasmussen looks at the nature of romantic love and what happens when we turn it into an idol.

9. This One Thing Really Does Change Everything
Rev. Matt Tuggle shared a pretty simple message on this Sunday. It was the No. 1 thing you have to remember if you are going to have a healthy marriage. Remember this one thing and you’ll be on firm ground. Forget it and you’re in trouble.

10. How Long, Lord
Ever get mad at God, but you don’t know how to let God know? Ever get discouraged that God won’t answer your prayers and you’d love to give Him an earful? Being honest with God is a challenge. Too often we just fluff it up and hide how we really feel. In this message, Hannah Buchanan began our Honest to God series by taking a look at some super faithful people of Scripture who told God exactly how they felt.
