As disciples of Christ, we are all called to serve others. Whether you have a heart for kids or enjoy welcoming others to church, there are many ways to use your gifts and abilities. Want to know how you can serve at HPUMC this year? Explore these great options.

HPUMC Kids

If you're looking for a fun place to be on Sunday morning, come serve with HPUMC Kids! Our biggest hope is that our kids leave on Sunday mornings feeling known, loved, and learn a little bit more about God's love for them, and we can't make that happen each week without our fabulous volunteers.

We have many opportunities during both the 9:30 and 11:00 am hours, including rocking babies in our nursery, volunteering in our toddler classes, helping in one of our Sunday School classes (Pre-K through 5th Grade), or greeting in any of our areas.

No experience is needed, and we provide all the tools you'll need to make it a meaningful morning for you and the kids! Background checks and training required. Sign up today!

Hospitality Team

In hospitality, we like to say that greeting is the most important job at HPUMC. Greeters are on the front lines of ministry and create warm and welcoming environments. That way, guests experience radical hospitality within their first 15 minutes on campus.

Come make others feel welcome by joining the Parking Lot Ministry or becoming a greeter! Contact Arang Cistulli at cistullia@hpumc.org.

Congregational Care

Show God's love and care to members who were once active in our church. Visit by phone, remind them that they are loved by the church, and send an occasional note of encouragement. All communication is done from the church.

Any time after 12:30 pm on Sundays, you can help us bring joy to our older adults on their special day by creating and delivering birthday bouquets made from the Sanctuary altar flowers.

Also, Journey is a weekly, faith-based program that provides respite for caregivers of people with early-stage Alzheimer's and dementia by providing structured care for their loved ones. Servers (ages 18+) engage in fun, individualized care, pre-planned activities, and events in the Tolleson Family Activity Center.

You will be paired with a participant during a four-hour period, which includes lunch. Serve weekly, bi-monthly or monthly on Thursdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Training provided. For more information, please contact Trissie Osborn at Orsbornt@hpumc.org.

Belong disABILITY Ministry

Belong disABILITY Ministry welcomes people of all abilities, ages, and faith to be part of an adaptive, inclusive community. Belong is located in the Tolleson Family Activity Center and provides resources, programs, and welcoming spaces for individuals with disabilities of all ages, as well as for their families and friends.

Chance's Pie & Coffee Shop is managed and run by participants with disabilities. We would love for servers to assist Chance's staff as they bake pies, serve coffee, and provide hospitality to the local community. Volunteers are needed for the 7:00 to 10:00 am shift or the 9:30 am to 12:30 pm shift, Sunday through Thursday.

You can also assist individuals with disabilities in one-hour daytime classes, Mondays through Thursdays, in the Tolleson Center. Each class has a teacher, so volunteers will assist individuals. Possible classes include art, voice, faith, photography, yoga, jewelry making, drawing, and creative writing. No experience is necessary. Volunteers just need to have a heart for serving. To sign up, please contact Melanie Lucido at lucidom@hpumc.org.
