Pastoral Care

We all have a story of a time someone cared for us when we needed it the most. HPUMC Pastoral Care exists for those moments. In addition to the resources the ministry provides, we also encourage HPUMC clergy, lay leaders, and group leaders alike to lift up and support our congregants through life’s circumstances. Whether that means visiting one of our Small Group members in the hospital or answering a phone call from a congregant in crisis, we all do our part to make HPUMC a community of care.

During regular office hours, you will be connected with a pastor. After hours, you will be connected with our answering service, and a pastor will return your call. You can also email care@hpumc.org to reach one of our pastoral care team members.

Milestone Moments

Baptism

We are blessed to participate in this holy sacrament of baptism with your family. We believe that by choosing to have your child baptized, you are being connected to the body of Christ, the larger church family of HPUMC. The baptismal covenant is connectional in nature, made in public, and witnessed by others who vow to support your family in nurturing the development of your child.

Weddings

HPUMC is honored to host many weddings each year.

Memorials and Funerals

A funeral or memorial service can present a bewildering array of details to be resolved in a short span of time. As we work with you to plan your loved one’s service, we will walk you through these details so you’ll know what the church will handle for you and what you need to handle yourself.

The Columbarium

Situated around the base of Cox Chapel and nestled amid stately trees and landscape, the Columbarium at Highland Park is a serene place for contemplation and celebration of the lives of loved ones.
