CLASSES

Bible Reading Plan: Acts

Starts Monday, September 25

The Book of Acts marks the beginning of the Church as we know it—in fact, it’s where Christians were first called “Christians.” It all started with a small movement of people, empowered by the Holy Spirit, who represented Jesus by showing generosity, healing, and preaching to others. Their actions sent shockwaves wherever they went, changing minds and hearts in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and beyond. This fall, join us as we find inspiration in the first generation of Christians who changed the world together.

Creed

Mondays, September 18-October 23 | 6:30-8 pm | Room #3 (Second Floor, Kids Area)

We’re all searching, but our questions are complicated, and truth can be hard to find. In this study, Adam Hamilton finds powerful answers contained in the Apostles’ Creed, an early statement of foundational Christian beliefs. He explores what Christians believe, why they believe it, and why it matters.

Sacred Rhythms: Arranging Our Lives for Spiritual Transformation

Tuesdays, September 19-October 24 | 6:30-7:30 pm | Room 216

Our hearts long for more of God, but how can we experience the deep spiritual transformation that satisfies that longing? Spiritual disciplines are practices that have helped those who have gone before us to order their lives toward this blessed transformation. This study will engage several well-known spiritual disciplines by offering you opportunities to learn about, experience, and reflect on them in the context of a nurturing community of study and fellowship.

Open Your Bible

Wednesdays, September 20-October 25 | 6-7 pm | Room #3 (Second Floor, Kids Area)

Do you want to study the Bible but have no idea where to begin? Using the book “30 Days to Understanding the Bible” by Max Anders, this class will give you an overview of the Bible’s layout, story arc, key people, and events so that you can get more out of God’s Word. In this study, you will gain a beginning knowledge that you can use to build a more complete understanding in the years ahead.

HPUMC Moms: Long Days of Small Things

Mondays, September 11-December 4 | 9:30-11 am | Room 120

Are you a mom who is looking to connect with other women and grow in your faith? Join an amazing group of HPUMC moms led by Hannah Buchanan as we study “Long Days of Small Things,” by Catherine McNiel. Engage in conversations about real life and connect with other women in the trenches.

SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

2023-2024 | HPUMC

HPUMC Kids is looking for volunteers willing to serve on one Sunday or just one more. You can make a difference in the lives of the church's youngest members—it just takes a servant’s heart. There are various opportunities, including Small Group leaders, helpers, and greeters. In the next few months, we would like you, your Small Group, Sunday Morning Class, or friend group to consider serving on at least one Sunday to help our kids grow in faith and joy.
