Assist the Kids/Youth Choir directors with checking students in, greeting, shepherding singers between different rooms, helping oversee games and activities, and helping host Kids/Youth Choir events. Our Kids/Youth Choirs rehearse throughout the school year on Sunday mornings after the 9:30 am services.

This position serves approximately 15 minutes before the service hour until 15 minutes after to help create a warm and welcoming environment for our families. Opportunities are available on both the first and second floors at either the 9:30 am or 11 am hours. Anyone working with children is required to complete a background check and MinistrySafe training every two years.

We are in need of youth volunteers on Sunday morning to help kids get excited about Sunday school. We would love for you to help children of all ages learn about the bible, play fun games and connect with the younger generation of the church. We have opportunities from Nursery age through 5th grade.

Join us on Wednesday nights to help our middle school and high school students as they navigate questions regarding faith, doubts, life, the Bible, and more! Our team of pastors will walk alongside you to equip and empower you with both biblical and theological knowledge. You don't have to know every answer, but you do need to love teenagers, have a good sense of humor, and be able to wrestle with their questions.

The lighting volunteer is responsible for the lighting cues for Sanctuary services. This includes setting and running light cues throughout the services with the Production Manager. Knowledge of light and color is preferred, but advanced training will be provided. Time commitment options include one or all of the following times: Sunday from 8 to 9:30 am, Sunday from 9 to 10:45 am, and Sunday from 10:30 am to 12:15 pm.

Literacy Achieves is in need of teachers for their Adult English Language classes that help immigrant and refugee adults learn English. Teachers are needed for two hours a week during 12-week semesters. Training is provided for anyone who would like to volunteer. No prior English teaching experience is required.

One Friday night a month, we give parents and caregivers a night off by hosting our Night OWLS respite program for kids with disabilities and their siblings. As a volunteer, you will be paired one-on-one with a child (with or without a disability) and will support them in all the evening's activities. The more volunteers who sign up, the more families we are able to serve through this program.

You must attend a 2.5-hour training to volunteer in Belong programs. No prior experience with individuals with disabilities is required.

This position serves with our infants and toddlers to help create a safe and nurturing environment. We ask that you commit to 12 Sundays throughout the year. We have a team of dedicated caregivers that you will serve alongside who will take care of all the hard stuff. Opportunities are available at both the 9:30 or 11 am service times. This is a position that could be for children ages 0-2. Anyone working with children is required to complete a background check and MinistrySafe training every two years.

The online host will monitor and engage with our online congregants during Sunday worship livestreams. Training will be provided. This is a good connection opportunity for our congregants who are not local to the DFW metroplex. One host is needed for each of the following services:

Cornerstone 9:30 am, 11 am
Sanctuary 9:30 am, 11 am

Would you and your Sunday School class or Small Group like to organize a supplies drive for one of our incredible partners? Our partners are regularly in need of supplies to continue their impactful work. Help them make a difference in the lives of our neighbors!

The photography volunteer will work with the Creative and Communications team to help capture the life of the church by taking photos during events, Outreach projects, and worship. These pictures will help spread the church's message through our social media channels, website, and print pieces, helping draw in new members and building community among members.

Join a group of knitters, crocheters, and quilters who are willing to create baby and lap blankets, scarves, and crosses to show that God and HPUMC cares for people. Knit or quilt at home or join this community every second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, 1-3 pm in room 218. There is no minimum age or knitting skill required, just a love for learning and creating.
