There’s so much happening inside and outside of our church’s walls during the Christmas season. Want to help impact the lives of others at this special time of year? Check out these three ways to use your gifts and serve those in our community and at HPUMC.

Serve a Christmas Dinner to Our Neighbors Experiencing Homelessness

This is a perfect way for you to spread the hope of Christ to those in our community this Christmas season. On Sunday, December 22, we will gather at Austin Street Center to provide a meal for more than 400 of our homeless neighbors. You can serve alongside your small group, with your family (kids welcome!), or as an individual. Shifts begin at 1:30 pm with clean up from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

Become part of our growing Belong disABILITY Ministry!

The Belong disABILITY Ministry is expanding into its brand new space at the Tolleson Family Activity Center, fulfilling its promise to be a flagship church program for families with disabilities in the DFW area. Looking for a way to engage with this incredible community? Consider serving with the Explorers program for teens and adults with disabilities on December 10 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. The evening includes social time and a short devotional. Then the participants will explore martial arts! Sign up to assist with the Explorers activities or provide dinner to our volunteers snacks to participants. Contact Volunteer Coordinator, Melanie Lucido for more information.

Help welcome others to HPUMC on Christmas Eve!

We appreciate those that help greet guests into our church each week, but making them feel welcomed becomes especially important around the holiday season. Greeters are the go-to people for any visitor who may be lost or have a question about what’s going on that day. Greeters also hand out bulletins and help find open seating for the congregation. If you want to share in the spirit of God’s peace and love, consider becoming a greeter on Christmas Eve!
