BELONG DISABILITY MINISTRY RESOURCES

Our Resource Center is open to families and individuals affected by disability at any stage of their journey. The Resource Coordinator can help you find and connect with local and regional resources and provide information on an array of topics including, but not limited to, parent and self-advocacy, respite, government assistance programs (SSI, Medicaid waivers, etc.), housing, post-secondary transition, early intervention programs, employment, emotional and spiritual support, reading recommendations, and future planning.

Church membership/faith affiliation are not necessary to access any of our resources or services, and we can assure you that resource meetings are kept confidential.

ANNUAL EVENTS

Summer Resource Fair

February | Tolleson, Third Floor Gym

Summer can be an intimidating time for families affected by disability. It can be hard to find opportunities for their loved one to have a full and engaging summer experience. Our fair brings together over 20 agencies that offer summer programming for kids, teens, and adults with disabilities including day programs, day camps, adaptive sports, and sleepaway camps. This event is held early in the year so that families can have the information before programs fill up.

Night OWLS Family Camp

October | Friday-Sunday | Camp John Marc, Meridian, TX

Family Camp is an opportunity for Night OWLS families to spend time enjoying God’s beauty in the outdoors, deepen family bonds, make lasting memories, and experience renewal and refreshment, all while also getting to know other families who are walking a similar path. Volunteers will be present to assist families with camp activities.

Supported in Faith Conference

November | Tolleson

Families affected by disability often come to faith communities with a hunger for acceptance and belonging, and a significant need for direction and resources. This conference brings together faith leaders, community organizations, self-advocates, and caregivers to learn from one another so that we are all better equipped to step into the gap with each family who crosses our path.
