Our church is delighted to announce that Rev. Elizabeth Moseley, Senior Associate Minister, has accepted a new position as Director of Special Programs here at the HPUMC. She will be leading the efforts to develop Restoration Ministries (our domestic abuse restoration ministry), a substance addiction recovery ministry, and two ministries we will be calling the Marriage Project and the Parenting Project.

Elizabeth has been on staff for over 13 years and has worked in various ministries during her time here. She is one of our longest tenured ministers and has a variety of pastoral experience working with different groups within our congregation. She’s a familiar face in most of our venues and worship services, as well as with many of the classes and groups around the church.

These four ministry projects are each vital to the mission of our church, and Senior Minister Paul Rasmussen believes Elizabeth is uniquely gifted to get these ministries to a place of sustainable growth.

“Our church has always been missional in focus and providing these ministries will serve both our congregation and our community,” says Rev. Paul Rasmussen, Senior Minister of HPUMC. “I am proud of Elizabeth and can think of no one better to lead us in this ministry.”

“Each of these areas present huge opportunities to change the trajectory of people’s lives,” says Rev. Moseley. “The domestic abuse restoration ministry and substance addiction recovery ministry, truly deal with life or death situations, and the marriage and parenting ministries both focus on supporting and equipping people through some of the most fundamental life-changing experiences we can have as adults.

“I believe our church can be a powerful voice in our community, from a theological and practical standpoint. The church should be a place where people can turn when they need help, support, courage, and comfort. I know God will use these ministries to change people’s lives and give them the gift of abundant life now.”

Elizabeth will be heading up these projects for the next two years, putting in place structures and strategies, so that they can be sustainably housed in the Congregation Care department (Restoration Ministries and the addiction recovery ministry) and the Adult Ministries department (The Marriage as well as the Parenting Project).

If you would like more information or would like to help with any of these projects, please reach out to Elizabeth at moseleye@hpumc.org. And keep her and our church in your prayers as we move forward in these essential ministries!
