On Easter, we honor the unimaginable sacrifice that our Savior made for us, and the miracle that happened just three days later. The stone was rolled away, and out of the tomb came hope—for new life and a future with God. There’s no better cause for celebration! Join us for Holy Week as we reflect on the events leading up to the miracle, then honor that Jesus is Risen on Easter Sunday.
Easter at HPUMC: Risen
What if it rains on Easter Sunday?
Rain is in the forecast for this weekend, so we’ve prepared plans to keep you dry and ready to celebrate our Savior on Easter Sunday!
Cornerstone Services
If you plan to join us for one of the Cornerstone Services, don’t worry—the rain won’t stop our joy! We are moving the celebration into Wesley Hall (just like a regular Sunday morning). We’ll still celebrate with all our Easter fun—tacos, donuts, coffee—just with a roof overhead.
Exciting news!
We’re adding a brand-new 11 am Cornerstone service to our 6:45 and 9:30 am services, to allow even more people to join in the celebration.
All services will also be available online, via hpumconline.org, our app, Apple TV, or Roku.
Sanctuary Services
We've updated our entry plan to keep you dry and out of the weather. If it’s still raining as you enter the church on Sunday morning, you can expect to wait inside instead of outside under the white tents at the entrance off of Bishop Boulevard. You’ll be able to line up indoors in Fellowship Hall—right next to the Sanctuary. Please enter through one of two entrances: the Porte Cochère or the Sanctuary North Doors (adjacent to Bishop Blvd). However, if the sun is shining, we’ll enjoy the weather and wait under the tents outside.
Don’t Forget: Saturday Evening Is Also an Option
Consider celebrating Easter on Saturday at 5 or 7 pm. These services are identical to Sunday’s sanctuary worship with Rev. Paul Rasmussen and just as joyful. It’s a great way to worship and still enjoy a relaxed Sunday morning.
All services will also be available online, via hpumconline.org, our app, Apple TV, or Roku.
Our wonderful team of staff and greeters will be easy to spot and happy to help with anything you need.
Rain or shine, we can’t wait to celebrate Easter with you!
What if I can't make it Sunday?
This year's services won’t just be on Easter Sunday, April 20. Those looking to celebrate the night before are also invited to join us for one of our two services on Saturday, April 19—at 5 and 7 pm in the Sanctuary.
Should I bring my kids?
While we will not have regular kids’ programming or KidCare for our Easter services, kids are always welcome in all of our worship services. Activity packets will be available in each venue.
Where should I park?
Parking for Easter will be available in the Meadows Parking Center and Hillcrest Parking Center. For handicapped and senior parking, the HPUMC parking lot on the north side of the building (adjacent to the Sanctuary) will be available.
The HPUMC Shuttle is available for Easter! You can park at Moody Parking Center or Binkley Parking Center on SMU’s campus, then take the shuttle to get to all of our Easter services. The shuttle will pick you up from the front entrance of the SMU parking center and drop you off at either Arden Forest or the Sanctuary.
You can learn more and view the parking maps here.
How can I make an impact this Easter?
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to love others. Each year, 100% of our Easter Offering goes back into our community and helps us feed and clothe our neighbors in Dallas, promote justice, and lift people out of poverty around the globe with our Outreach partners. You can bring your gift to the church, mail it in, or give online today at hpumc.org/give. Let’s transform lives together!
What if I can’t join in person?
No matter where you are, you can tune in and worship with us online or stream on YouTube, Roku, Chromecast, or Apple TV. Join or invite a friend to join us virtually this Easter at hpumc.org/watch-online.
What can I do before or after service?
Take a picture at one of our many flower crosses spread across campus, located on Mockingbird Lawn, in Arden Forest, or outside Tolleson Family Activity Center!
