Jesters Troupe prepares for an unforgettable 2017 performance!
At the beginning of this season, when discussing what message the Jesters cast wanted to share with the audience, they expressed their concern about the recent elections and shootings of Dallas Police Officers.
The cast and crew talked about respecting others who may be different and what it looked like to appreciate local heroes. Many shared their own stories of standing up against bullies on behalf of their friends. The theme for 2017 became clear!
The 2017 Jesters play, called “City of Heroes” is set in post-war 1945. Done in the style of a comic book musical, the play poses this question: “What makes a hero, and whom should we fear?”
The performers will take the stage for two nights only, starting on Saturday, February 18th. Tickets are available, on hpumc.org/jesters.

On February 7, HPUMC will be hosting the first Small Group Launch of 2017! The one-hour launch focuses on what it means to be in a small group and potential groups a chance to get to know each other.

New sermon series in January begs the question, what is “The Good Life?”
One of the most essential promises of Christianity is abundant life. Jesus said it himself in John 10:10: “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
It’s not uncommon to think that promise translates into “having the good life.” But here’s the question – what makes it good? Money, prosperity, happiness, healthy relationships? What exactly was Jesus talking about when he promised us abundance? If you’ve ever heard this promise preached, but have been a little confused about where you can expect to find abundance or what the good life really is, this sermon series is for you.
Be sure to follow this series as it begins on January 8 in both HPUMC’s contemporary Cornerstone service and the Traditional Sanctuary service.
