Five Fingers of Prayer: An activity for teaching children The Lord’s Prayer

June 10, 2016 by Andi Fancher

In Sunday school each week, our little ones are learning The Lord's Prayer, even at the early age of three.

We have a neat little trick that we can show you called the Five Fingers of Prayer.

  • Thumb: I love you God.
  • Index finger: I'm sorry God.
  • Middle finger: Thank you God.
  • Ring finger: God bless my friends and family.
  • Pinky finger: God bless me.

As your kids get older, you can add specifically what do you love about God? What are you thankful for to God? And who can you bless through prayer?

This is a great way to start praying with your kids early on and teaching them The Lord's Prayer.
