Although David Johnson grew up with parents who were believers, when he first began attending HPUMC, he was a self-proclaimed atheist. Through a powerful sermon that changed his perspective, finding community, and immersing himself in Scripture, David Johnson’s life was completely changed.
As a reflection of his newfound faith, David decided to reaffirm his baptism on a Sunday morning in Cornerstone, HPUMC’s contemporary worship service.
David is now a member of HPUMC and regularly volunteers with Carpenters for Christ. These days, David says his life has become more about serving others, rather than himself.
“The reaffirmation of my baptism has given me a new dedication to live my life more like Christ,” he says. “It’s not about me, it’s about all the others around me.”
