There comes a time in life when it is impossible to ignore the beckoning of aging. We experience changes in our bodies and minds, or we lose someone we love, leaving us no choice but to face reality. Many of us are weary of the worn-out tropes about old people. We long to still feel vital and useful, but maybe we can do so in a new way.
In “Women Rowing North: Navigating Life’s Currents and Flourishing as We Age” we find a road map for a new way to age. Mary Pipher, a writer and therapist, has written a book packed with insights and ideas to help us move “north.”
In this reading group for women ages 60 and older, you will complete the reading assignment and come prepared to participate in discussion. This is not a support group or a book review, but an opportunity to try on new ideas about aging and discuss those ideas with others. The tone will be positive, uplifting, and encouraging.
This class is held bi-weekly on Thursdays: Jan. 26, Feb. 9 & 23, March 9 & 23, & April 6.
Please purchase your own book prior to attending class.
