We live in a historic moment. Some are leaving the United Methodist Church and forming a new church. Those who are leaving are also criticizing our church and casting a new, alternative vision of what it means to be Methodist.

This six-week class is designed for those who want to better understand who we are and what it means to be Methodist. It is a perfect follow-up for those who have taken the class entitled "Schism: Understanding What’s Happening to the UMC" or for anyone who would just like to take a deeper dive into who we are: our history, our beliefs, and what makes us distinctive and Methodist.

This class is held on Tuesdays, Aug. 2 through Sept. 13 (no class on Sept. 6), and we offer a hybrid option of in person or remote online attendance. A Zoom link will be sent prior to the start of class. There is also an optional lunch at 11:30 am for $10 (no charge for the class).
