God in a Manger: The Unexpected, Extraordinary, Scandalous, Challenging, and Utterly Wonderful Humility of Jesus

Dr. Craig Hill, Dean of the Perkins School of Theology

Monday, December 5 | 11:30—1 pm | Great Hall

The birth of Christ in a manger is rightly celebrated as an act of divine humility. What is more easily missed is the extent to which humility is central to Jesus' later teaching and practice. We'll explore these matters but also consider foundational questions about what humility is and isn't, and why it is so essential to Christian life. In addition to Dr. Hill's message, we will recognize UMW women who contribute their time and service to HPUMC UMW activities as we honor our End-of-Year Award recipients and outgoing Leadership Board members. Our 2023 Leadership Board members will be installed.
