Between age ten to age twenty, our kids shift from being little children to becoming independent young adults. The shift is often gradual and halting. It seems they are managing responsibility and showing good judgment, and then they drop the ball! It can feel as if there are unpredictable, unexplained, mysterious forces at play—a Bermuda triangle of responsibility.
This class looks at the forces at play in our kid’s maturation through the teen years and seeks to demystify them. Topics include the framework of teen development; the impact of gender; improving communication; managing and learning from the inevitable crises; and what to anticipate with regard to love, sex, and romance. We will also look at being “good enough” parents.
This series will summarize many of the important lessons Kathleen has learned over the years both from her own parenting and from what families have shared.
