Stronger Together, Weaker Apart: “A Mighty Long Way: My Journey to Justice at Little Rock Central High School”

  • Sep 27, 2023 Register by Monday, September 11
  • 12:00pm – 1:00pm
  • Room 244/245 or online via Zoom

"A Mighty Long Way,” by Carlotta Walls LaNier, is the courageous story of one young woman’s desire and determination for education. As part of the Little Rock Nine, she began a journey that challenged prevailing attitudes, broke down barriers, and forever changed the landscape of America. Her story tells of the challenges faced and the sacrifices made by families and communities that found themselves a part of history. “A Mighty Long Way” shines a light on this watershed moment in civil rights history and shows that determination, fortitude, and the ability to change the world are not exclusive to a few special people but are inherent within us all.

This book leads up to our next Civil Rights Pilgrimage on Oct 13-14, 2023. While this book will be helpful to everyone, it will make for an especially meaningful experience for those going on the pilgrimage.

This class is available both in person and online.
