Scripture and the Authority of God

In “Scripture and the Authority of God,” theologian N.T. Wright explains that Scripture is not a rulebook but is instead a living script. The Bible is best understood as a grand narrative played out in five acts: the creation, the fall, Israel, Jesus, and the Church. It tells the story of how God is addressing the corruption of the world and restoring His image-bearers. Christians are called to continue the biblical story faithfully in their own time. When we submit to the authority of Scripture, we submit to the living God who speaks through the text, transforming our worldview, shaping our character, and equipping us to bring God's kingdom reality into the world.
