Rite of Confirmation: Ceremony 2

  • Sunday, April 27
  • 2:00pm – 3:00pm
  • Sanctuary (Reception at 3 pm in Great Hall)

Confirmation is the time when students claim faith for themselves and become full members of our church. As a ceremony, the Rite of Confirmation service provides the setting and opportunity for the child to acknowledge and profess the faith into which he or she has been baptized through a special worship service.

During the service, the individual stands before the community, is asked the historical questions of Christian discipleship, is asked to affirm the faith for him or herself, receives the power of the Holy Spirit, and is commissioned for a life of Christian discipleship. This results in the person becoming a “professing member” of the church. Professing members accept and participate in the privileges and responsibilities of membership in the church and enter more fully into the ministry.

This year, we are offering three service options for families to choose from:

  1. Friday, April 25
    - Ceremony: 6-7 pm (Sanctuary)
    - Reception: 7 pm (Great Hall)
  2. Sunday, April 27
    - Ceremony: 2-3 pm (Sanctuary)
    - Reception: 3 pm (Great Hall)
  3. Sunday, April 27
    - Ceremony: 6-7 pm (Sanctuary)
    - Reception: 7 pm (Great Hall)

We are excited about this special time in your child's faith journey and look forward to their public expression of faith in Christ!
