Tower Arts Presents the Orpheus Chamber Singers

The Orpheus Chamber Singers, a professional 24-voice mixed adult choir under the direction of J.D. Burnett, was founded with the express purpose of providing exceptional performances of traditional and innovative chamber choral music from the past six centuries. Since its first concert in 1995, Orpheus has presented a multi-concert subscription series each year to great critical acclaim.

Christmas at Highland Park: Handel's Messiah

The HPUMC Chancel Choir will be joined by guest soloists as well as instrumentalists from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra this advent season to bring you G.F. Handel’s Messiah. Come and enjoy Part I of this masterwork, which tells the story of the Nativity. We hope you can join us for this beautiful musical offering as we prepare our hearts and minds for the coming birth of Jesus Christ.

Tower Arts Presents the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra with Alessio Bax, Piano

Orpheus Chamber Orchestra is a radical experiment in musical democracy, showing for fifty years what happens when exceptional artists gather with total trust in each other and faith in the creative process. Their initiative, Orpheus Reflections, strives to bring the healing power of music to people living with Alzheimer’s disease, and other forms of dementia, and their caregivers. In an effort to serve this community, there will be a special performance for our HPUMC Journey Ministry that will be live streamed to surrounding Alzheimer’s and dementia communities.

Tower Arts is excited to welcome husband and wife duo Ken Cowan and Lisa Shihoten. In addition to dedicating our Dobson Organ in November 2009, Ken has performed at regional conventions of organist societies and with renowned orchestras and symphonies across the country. In her first appearance with our Tower Arts series, Lisa joins us as an award-winning chamber musician, recitalist, and teacher. We hope you can join us for this unique evening in our sacred Sanctuary.
