Pilgrimages with HPUMC provide opportunities to learn from the stories of others and ask questions to better understand how to unite communities. We hope you will join us on a transformative trip through Memphis, Tennessee, from Friday, February 7, through Saturday, February 8, 2025.
We will explore civil rights history Memphis, visiting sites such as the Slave Haven Underground Railroad Museum, the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel (the site of Dr. King’s tragic 1968 assassination), the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, and more.
Throughout this transformative trip, we will share great conversation together over even greater food! We will also get to see the famous Peabody duck march and meet duckmaster, Kenan Walker!
There will also be a mandatory trip meeting on Thursday, January 28, at 7 pm in the Walt Marcum Volunteer Lounge at HPUMC to meet the rest of the group and receive final trip details. The meeting will be held in person and online.
