  • 6:30pm – 8:00pm
  • Room 3 (2nd Floor, Children's Area)

Led by: Jim Swayze
Cost: No charge, but you will need to purchase the following three books:

  • “The C. S. Lewis Signature Classics: An Anthology of 8 C. S. Lewis Titles” (this book includes Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, Miracles, The Great Divorce, The Abolition of Man, the Four Loves, and A Grief Observed)
  • “Surprised by Joy: The Shape of My Early Life” by C. S. Lewis
  • “Letters to Malcolm” by C. S. Lewis

The name C. S. Lewis immediately brings to mind “Mere Christianity” or his “Narnia” series of children’s books. But this enormously erudite and prolific Oxford don wrote so much more than these popular works. In this fast-paced, energetic twelve-week course, we’ll examine Lewis’s most penetrating, illuminating, and inspiring writings—including not only chapters from “Mere Christianity” but also selections from “The Abolition of Man,” “Miracles,” “Surprised by Joy,” “The Weight of Glory,” and other works.

Each weekly session will consist of independent, at-home reading followed by in-class viewing of a series of talks given by Dr. Michael Ward of Oxford, a man the New York Times has called “the foremost living Lewis scholar.” Expect deep insight and lively discussion.

Come join us in the quest for the meaning of life!

This class will be held weekly on Tuesdays, Sept. 13 through Dec. 20.
