More than a choir

The Music, Arts, & Traditional Worship Ministry of Highland Park United Methodist Church has a long-standing history of excellence. We believe quality music is vital to a rich, meaningful worship experience. Going beyond weekly worship, we strive to be “more than a choir” in all we do. In every facet of our programming, we aim to find opportunities to serve and love others both within our immediate church family and outside our walls. In collaboration with our mission partners, our goal is to take the arts into the community.

Our robust music ministry features choirs of all ages, the Epworth Handbell Ensemble, the Carillonneurs of our prized Porter Memorial Carillon, and the renowned David R. Davidson Tower Arts Concert Series. We place high importance on incorporating laity in all of our music programming—we are for all.

Sacred music is a gift that connects, unites, heals, inspires, teaches, and sustains us. It often expresses what words alone cannot. This belief is at the core of what the HPUMC Music, Arts, & Traditional Worship Ministry has worked for so many years to provide—a way to draw people closer to Christ through our music, our worship, and our witness.

“Let every instrument be tuned for praise! Let all rejoice who have a voice to raise! And may God give us faith to sing always: Alleluia!” - Fred Pratt Green
