Band Together

A band is an intentionally small group of three to five men or women who meet weekly or biweekly to engage in transformational questions and pray for one another. Bands are designed to foster community and connection, encouragement and support, all while answering the question, “How are you doing, really?”

A band is distinct from a small group or Bible study; it is a small, same-gender group focused on personal transformation through deep questioning with honest, vulnerable sharing and praying for one another, inviting God to meet each person where they are, to thank God for their successes, and to ask God to help them in their struggles. Bands decide when and where they meet, whether that's at your home on a comfy couch, a park outdoors, or at a coffee shop together.

Helpful Answers:

Can I choose who is in my band?

Yes! When you register, let us know the names of those you’re banding with, and our team will reach out with more information to help you get started.

What is a typical band format?

Bands meet weekly or biweekly for one hour. They start with an opening prayer, followed by honest dialogue around five questions, and end with a closing prayer.

What is required for joining a band?

The only requirement is that you commit to regular meetings and confidentiality.

Are bands a forever commitment?

No, bands are not a forever commitment, but we hope some bands will continue to stay together for a long time.

Bands will meet in semesters, which provide a natural rhythm for onboarding new members and an easy, guilt-free way to conclude your participation, should you choose. We know bands do not always work for a variety of reasons, and it may be difficult to exit gracefully. This seasonal rhythm allows for a natural transition point.
