Dear Church Family,

Over the past 24 hours, you may have seen media coverage regarding a lawsuit filed against our church by the Horizon Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Because many of you likely heard about this in the news first, I wanted to speak to you directly to offer clarity, transparency, and assurance about where we stand. I recorded a short video, so we could walk through this together.

Our clergy, staff, and lay leadership were caught completely off guard by this filing. Despite recent open conversations with Conference leadership, we were blindsided by this legal action. I want to reassure you that the allegations are without merit, and that everything our leadership has done was executed by the book under Texas law.

Because we are navigating this situation in real time, we promise to keep you informed and will continue to provide updates as soon as we have more to share.

While this situation is disappointing, our focus remains steadfastly on our mission. For over 110 years, God has called us to serve this community, and that will not change. Right now, our hearts and efforts are fully dedicated to welcoming you all back this Sunday for Fall Kickoff and the historic reopening of Wesley Hall and our Kids Ministry spaces.
