Youth Ministry
The youth ministry of Highland Park United Methodist Church is a place where youth (grades 6-12) can have fun and grow in Christian love and commitment.  HPUMC has numerous activities, events and small groups where youth a can learn, grow, strengthen their faith and make friends.

We have activities on Sunday morning, Sunday evening and during the school week, as well as many trips, retreats and camps throughout the year. Our youth department ministers to more than 900 youth and their families.  Hundreds of youth gather each week to be a part of this very special program.  Committed adults and parents give their time and talents to lead and guide our young people.

HPUMC’s youth ministry falls in three areas: our 6th grade confirmation program under the leadership of Rev. Walt Marcum, our middle school ministry for 7th & 8th graders under the direction of Bronwen Dunn and our high school ministry for 9th–12th graders under the direction of Tova Sido.

On Sundays, each grade level has its own Sunday school class.  All youth meet together at 9:30 a.m. in room 386 for singing and announcements.  Then we break into separate classes: 7th grade (room 386) and 8th grade (room 329/336).

On Wednesday nights, middle school youth gather in the basement at 6 p.m. for LOOP.  LOOP is a high energy ministry, much like Young Life or K-Life, that includes games, food, music, worship and fellowship.  LOOP ends at 7 p.m.

Our middle school ministry also has  several weekly Bible study opportunities, a monthly fun fellowship activity and regular special events, including a fall retreat, a spring break mission trip, a summer mission trip and a Colorado wilderness trip.
