Vision Africa Worktrip 2004

Highland Park United Methodist Church sent an eight-member team to Nigeria in June 2004 with three objectives: to observe firsthand the activity and fruits of Vision Africa’s work; to better understand our brothers and sisters in Nigeria; and to assist the Nigerian Methodist Church, Vision Africa and Rev. Sunday Onuoha in ministering to the local people. Mission accomplished! The team would like to thank the congregation for its overwhelming support. Your prayers, encouraging words, medical donations and financial contributions made this mission a blessing to all involved.

Through your financial support, a new parsonage was built. A large number from the village turned out for the dedication.

The four-day medical outreach treated over 1,000 men, women and children. Forty nurses and twenty doctors, and hundreds of church members volunteered their time. HPUMC members donated much of the equipment and medicines.

Visits were made to the Motherless Babies Home and to village schools (look on the right).

We ask for God’s guidance in the following areas:

  • Education and discipleship of Nigeria church leaders
  • Future medical outreach support
  • The launching and operational support of Vision Africa Radio
  • Providing the most constructive support to the Motherless Babies Home
  • Continuing the missionary support for Rev. Sunday Onuoha and his family
