Near the dawn of the Great Depression, a flour mill sponsored a new band in Fort Worth, Texas that soon charted a new course for musical styles. They quickly arose as one of the most popular groups in radio’s history. Now, decades later, the band excites new generations of fans as they continue to perform and record their unique brand of music.

Come and enjoy Texas Swing!

Support for this concert comes from the Texas Commission on the Arts
and Highland Park United Methodist Church.

Charles Osgood Presents

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the White House

Friday, May 23, 10 am, Wesley Hall

Coming exactly when America most needs a good laugh, this book promises to make the seemingly endless race to the presidency a little more bearable, if not downright enjoyable.

Charles Osgood offers a rib-tickling compendium of anecdotes from the last 70 years of presidential campaigns, including fragments of speeches, interviews, press conferences, as well as articles written by and about the candidates.

Osgood is dubbed CBS News’  “poet-in-residence,” anchors CBS Sunday Morning on television, and writes and anchors The Osgood Files four times daily on CBS Radio Network.

Join Mr. Osgood as he relates presidential anecdotes, recites poetry, and accompanies the audience on a Steinway Grand. He’ll play your favorite patriotic songs in honor of Memorial Day.
Free! No reservations!

Co-Sponsored by the Friends of St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
