HPUMC's Hurricane Relief Efforts
Updated 10/17/05
We have surpassed our $1 million financial goal!  Highland Park United Methodist Church has exceeded its commitment to raise $1 million in aid.  In addition, we are close to reaching our goal of collecting 1 million pounds of food in partnership with the North Texas Food Bank.

  • More than $1.2 million has been given to support hurricane victims
  • More than 1,200 families have been served
  • Almost 750,000 pounds of food have been collected for the North Texas Food Bank
  • More than 1,500 volunteers have contributed time toward the relief effort

Please Give Generously:

  1. Give to HPUMC/ Katrina Relief Fund
    Donations to HPUMC's Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund will provide direct aid through local agencies serving evacuees in the Dallas area as well as through emergency response agencies working in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.  Please give generously.  Donate online by credit card or make checks payable to HPUMC, and please designate Katrina on the memo line.   Mail to 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75205.

  2. HPUMC's food drive through North Texas Food Bank will be providing food and water to local shelters, and will also be shipping supplies to Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.  Please give generously through the North Texas Food Bank.   Click on the NTFB logo to the right.

Please Pray:
Merciful and compassionate God, hear our prayers for all people
affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Strengthen those who cling to life; keep their hope and hearts alive;
Revive the weary rescue workers and tired medical teams,
renew the resolve of those who have lost everything.
Quicken all efforts to rush resources and aid, send our people to help;
Open our hearts to give and give again that we may be
generous bearers of healing and help.
God of all people, open our hearts to receive new neighbors,
to make new friends, to embrace new opportunities to know Your presence.
Lord God, Pour out your Spirit of mercy and compassion.
In Your Name we pray.  AMEN.
