Usher and Greeter
Arrival time: 15 minutes prior to service

Overview: You will be a part of the existing team of ushers and greeters for Cornerstone Community. People should always have a smile and enjoy talking to and helping people arriving for service.
Prior to the Service Upon arrival, meet with the weekly coordinator or captain for assigned location (balcony or main level).
Greet the congregation at the doors to Wesley Hall, hand out bulletins and assist anyone needing help to find a seat.
During the Service Enjoy the service, and collect offering after the sermon and take it to the weekly coordinator for delivery to the business office.
After Service Help pick up any bulletins or papers left behind before the next service
Other Duties Assist in serving communion by passing out the elements to the congregation on designated weeks.
Assist with special events such as pot-luck lunches and after service fellowship events.
Cornerstone Cafe Volunteers
Arrival Time: based on Shift

Overview: You will be part of the volunteer team that runs the Cornerstone Cafe on Sunday Mornings as well as during special events. Volunteers should be comfortable working with people and enjoy the interacting with them. No coffee shop or sales experience is necessary. Shifts are broken up into 7:30am to 9:00am, 9:00am to 10:30am, 10:30am to 12:00pm.
Prior to the first Service (7:30am shift)
Set up the cafe and make 3 carafes of coffee
Assist anyone requesting coffee during the hours of this shift.
Collect payment from customers
Second Shift (9:00-10:30)
Assist anyone requesting coffee during the hours of this shift.
Refill condiments as necessary and make additional coffee as necessary
Collect payment from customers
Third Shift (10:30-12:00)
Assist anyone requesting coffee during the hours of this shift.
Refill condiments as necessary and make additional coffee as necessary
Collect payment from customers
Empty the Carafes and set aside for Janitorial staff to take for sterilization, clean up the cafe, dispose of any left over baked goods.
Ensure the money box is given to a staff member
Video Director
Call time: 6:15 am

Overview: This person makes sure the proper video sources are displayed on the appropriate screens at the appropriate times and gives direction to camera operators. There is some technical equipment to learn to operate, but we will train you. Time commitment is 1-2 Sundays a month.
Before Service: Turn on Projectors, Set router to display worship graphics, camera shots, and DVD playbacks on the Televisions on the video wall, Coffee shop and family room.
During service: Call camera shots, video playbacks, operate switcher. Record the service. Listen to and adjust volume in the Wesley basement.
After service: Straighten up control room desk. Turn off all projectors in Wesley Hall Worship Center, turn off all televisions on video wall, coffee shop and family room.
Worship Graphics Operator
Call time: 6:15 am

Overview: This person operates the computer software that displays the worship lyrics and video playbacks seen on the screens in Wesley Hall. This is a key position. Proper performance of these duties will greatly enhance worship. Candidates should be prompt, attentive, really enjoy worship music, and be able to stay one step ahead at all times. Candidates should be familiar with basic Mac and PC operations. No experience is necessary to operate the EZ worship software, we will train you.
Before Service: Rehearse worship and specials with band and familiarize yourself with the lyrics.
During Service: Operate graphics programs for worship and special music.
After Service: Straighten up desk, throw away paperwork. Close Easy Worship and shut down computer.
Lighting Operator
Call Time: 6:15 am

Overview: This person operates the lighting console in Wesley Hall. Skilled operation of this equipment greatly enhances worship. This is a very technical equipment and requires someone who is NOT afraid of very technical operations. Generally, the lights are programmed during the week, and this operator simply executes the pre-programmed lighting. If a candidate shows exceptional potential, we will work with that person to program lights as well. We will train operators. Time Commitment is 2 Sundays a month.
Before Service: Check cues and timing of cues. Rehearse music with band.
During Service: Execute lighting cues. Stay one step ahead and constantly be thinking in terms of what to do if someone does something out of order. In other words, have a plan ready to go if things don’t go according to script.
After service: Wait for band to stop playing postlude, turn on work lights over stage, power down the lighting controller.
Cornerstone Camera
Call Time: 9:15 am

Overview: This person operates the camera(s) in the Wesley Hall Worship Center. This camera work is reflected in our podcasts, webcasts, and on the screens in Wesley Hall during baptism and joining of new members. This is a great first position to volunteer in if you are new to the technical arts and wanting to be involved. No experience is necessary, just a willing heart. Time commitment is 1-2 Sundays a month
Before Service: Adjust camera pan bars and fluid head to suit your own taste and comfort.
During service: Operate camera according to the director’s instructions.
After service: Strike and secure camera.
Cornerstone Construction Crew

Overview: A Cornerstone Construction Crew member helps with sermon series stage design, stage decoration, set building and painting as needed. As we move from series to series, we sometimes have heavy set changes, and "many hands make light work." This is a great way to get involved with the creative side of Cornerstone. No experience required, just a desire to create, build, and paint! Time commitment is a couple of hours a month.
Cornerstone Events Team

Overview: We need your cooking, organizational and hospitality skills to help us celebrate! Whether its Christmas, Easter, or a special event we plan just for fun we need you to help us make it a joyful occasion.
Cornerstone Choir
Overview: As a choir member, you will play a major role in leading worship for the Cornerstone services. Prior experience is not required; simply a love for singing and a heart for worship. The choir sings for several 9:30 & 11:00 AM Cornerstone services throughout the year.
Rehearsal: Thursdays at 7 PM. Rehearsals are scheduled on the Thursday evening preceding each Sunday service in which the choir sings.
