Dave Wilson

cornerstone_dave_music.gifDave was born in Greenville, TX mainly because there was no hospital in the small town of Commerce where the Wilson clan actually lived. His Mom (who cooks some mean Mexican food) and sister also live in the Dallas metroplex. Dave thinks cats are cooler than dogs. He majored in Music at Western Kentucky University “back in the good old 90’s” as he likes to say. After making his way back to Dallas, he met a true Texas girl while playing in the praise band at their single’s service. To avoid the risk of such an intelligent and beautiful girl ever changing her mind, he quickly proposed and they were married within a year - (Smart man!!) - In addition to leading people in worship, his passions include hanging out with wife Dawn and their 3 kids (Skylor, Marnie, & Devyn), being an avid Dallas Cowboys fan - just swing by his office for proof - and songwriting professionally for TV shows like America’s Funniest Home Videos, Men In Trees, etc… To hear some of his more “interesting” work, swing by any Chuck E Cheese and listen to the robots singing children’s songs he has penned!

Who were some of your influences/inspirations?  Mostly people I know personally. Everyone I have ever had a relationship with has inspired me in some shape or fashion whether they knew it or not.

My all time favorite movie is...The Wedding Singer

My favorite food is…Mexican Food

My favorite sport is…Dallas Cowboys Football

What's on your Ipod? Mostly 90's rock, some great singer/songwriters, and any "face melting" worship music I can get my hands on – always open to suggestions :)

What's one of the most important lessons you've learned in life? I am not better than anyone, and no one is better than me.

My favorite quote is... "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it." Charles Swindoll

My favorite scripture is...Joshua 1:9 "Do not be afraid for the Lord your God is with you wherever you will go."
