Circles of United Methodist Women (UMW)

The following is a descriptive list of active United Methodist Women circles at HPUMC. Every circle is always eager to greet visitors and new members. We hope that this information helps you to find a group that is comfortable and convenient for you. Feel free to come join the fun!

Circle 1 meets on the first Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 p.m., in the circle members' homes. The age of the members of this circle is 35+, and members are young single and married women who enjoy Bible and Christian growth study, fellowship, support, and service. Circle 3 meets on the second Monday of each month, at 9:30 a.m., at the church. The age of the members of this circle is 30+, and members have children who range in age from preschool to teens. Speaker topics center around family life, church life, and outreach. Childcare is provided at the church by reservation. Circle 5 meets on the third Monday of each month, at 10:00 a.m., in the circle members' homes. The age of the members of this circle is 60+, and this long-standing circle consists of a wonderful mix of women who are very involved in social and spiritual activites. Meetings and studies are provided by members and outside speakers. Members often bring their own lunches and enjoy eating together following their meeting. Circle 7 meets on the second Thursday of each month, at 7:00 p.m., in a circle members' home. The age of the members of this circle range from late 20's to mid-to-late 30's, and the members are diverse with some being single, others married with no children, and many married with small children. Circle 9 meets on the third Monday of each month, at 1:00 p.m., at the church. The age of the members of this circle is 65+, and mission study is the vital part of the this circle. This circle is traditional and supports Bethlehem Center with shoes and socks at Christmas, as well as service for Wesley Rankin Community Center and the C.C. Young Retirement Complex. Circle 11 meets on the fourth Monday of each month, at 11:45 a.m., at the church for lunch and a meeting. The age of the members of this circle is 70+, and this close group of women has been meeting together for many years. They enjoy lunch and programs following UMW School of Mission topics. Circle 12 meets on the first Thursday of each month, at 12:00 p.m., in the circle members' homes. The age of the members of this circle is 45+, and this circle enjoys Bible study and programs for their monthly gatherings. Their service projects include working with Dickinson Place. Circle 15 meets on the third Tuesday of each month, at 1:30 p.m., at the church. The age of the members of this circle is 65+, and this service-minded and supportive circle is active in most outreach areas of HPUMC. Many UMW and church leaders are active in this circle. Circle 18 meets on the second Monday of each month, at 11:30 a.m., in the circle members' homes with an informal lunch. The age of the members of this circle is 40+, and this circle is primarily a support group for one another. Many members have high school and college aged children and are active in youth activities of the church. Programs cover the UMW mission topics as well as discussions led by circle members. Circle 20 meets on the second Monday of each month, 10:00 a.m., in the circle members' homes. The age range of the members of this circle is 50-75, and this active circle meets monthly for fellowship, refreshments, and a program designed to give spritual sustenance through Bible study and Christian living topics. Circle 20 is dedicated to a monthly service project, including the Advent decoration of the church.
