Pastoral Care Support Groups

  • Cancer Support: Meets at 11:30 a.m. the first Tuesday of each month for lunch at various restaurants. Call 214.523.2209 for location.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous: Meets at 7:30 p.m. on Mondays in room 252.
  • Women’s AA and Al-Anon: Meets Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00 p.m. in room 252.  This is a 12-step meeting for women who are seeking a solution to the disease of alcoholism and its effects on families.  For more information call Nancy at 214.368.3622 or Cai at 214.387.4715.  All women are welcome to attend.
  • Overeaters Anonymous: Meets at 7:30 p.m. on Mondays in room 388.
  • Heart/Stroke Survivor’s Group:  Meets on second Tuesday each month at the Baylor Institute of Rehabilitation (BIR) facility at 3505 Gaston Avenue from 3:00-4:00 p.m.  Parking tokens will be provided.  Please call Carol Wilson at 214.660.8650 for details.
  • H*E*R (Healing Estranged Relationships):  A Group for Estranged Mothers - Meets second Monday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in room 120. Call Rev. Barbara Marcum at 214.523.2248 for more information.
  • H.I.M (Healing Estranged Relationships):  A Group for Estranged Fathers - Will meet periodically throughout the year.  Next meeting will be May 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in room 369. Call Rev. Barbara Marcum at 214.523.2248 for more information.
  • Waldenstrom’s Support: For those affected by rare plasma cell neoplasm; meets quarterly off site.  Call 214.987.3326 for information.
  • Bridge to Mental Health: This education and support group, which is for people who have a family member with mental illness, meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in room 120.
  • Grief Understanding for Widows and Widowers: An ongoing forum for widows and widowers of any age who have lost a spouse.  Meets first and third Wednesdays each month at 5:00 p.m. in room 369, and will be facilitated by Julie Yarbrough, wife of the late Dr. Leighton Farrell.
