Prayer Blanket Ministry

If you like to knit, crochet, tie fleece or quilt and would like to take part in a special act of service, making blankets for the hurting and sick, please consider offering your gifts and talents to HPUMC’s Prayer Blanket Ministry.

Pastoral Care is collecting blankets to give to those within our congregation needing spiritual support.  We ask that the items be new, handmade, and created from solid, washable material.  The suggested size for a blanket is 36” x 45”.  Completed blankets can be dropped off in Mary Moon’s office, # 374.

While making your blanket, please pray for the recipient.  Pray for comfort, peace and God’s healing hands.  Our hope is that these blankets made with prayer will be a source of comfort and security for those in crisis.  The blankets will be blessed by a pastor.

As part of the Prayer Blanket Ministry, the church hosts a crafting bee every Tuesday afternoon from 1-4 pm in Storm Lounge, room 241.  Drop in anytime with your supplies.  Come and create in community with other blanket makers at the crafting bee.  Call Lauri Lueder at 214.523.2246 or Mary Moon at 214.523.2245 if you have questions.
