Mission
To provide financial assistance and support services for women who have a history working in the sex industry so they may increase their education and forge new lives for themselves and their children.
Services
New Friends New Life provides comprehensive resources for education and career development for women who have left the sex industry while they work toward self-sufficiency.
- Financial assistance includes payment of basic needs (rent, utilities, transportation, childcare).
- Support services include counseling, case management, weekly meetings of peers and advisors, budget planning, and referrals to non-profits and individuals who assist with issues typical of the unemployed or underemployed.
- Bible-based programming is provided for the children who attend the weekly meetings with their mothers.
Volunteer Opportunities
Long Term
- Tutor women and children
- Provide pro-bono or “at-cost” professional services (especially counselors, dentists, and physicians)
Short Term
- Provide a meal for 30-35 people on Wed. nights prior to weekly meeting
- Help women craft resumes and complete “master” job applications
- Provide entry level jobs for women looking to make a fresh start
- Help women build a wardrobe of work-appropriate clothing
- Help locate affordable housing in kid-friendly neighborhoods
