Carry the cross into the service, reminding us of Jesus’ sacrifice for us?
-
Draw us to the altar with the sound of festive bells as we celebrate the Holy Spirit's presence in our lives?
-
By carrying the symbols of our faith, are an important part of our worship services in the sanctuary, as the ministers, the choir, and those who prepare the bread and wine for communion?
-
Begin the worship service with dignity and grace?
-
Serve from September to May, performing their duties faithfully at regular intervals throughout the year at a particular service (8:30, 9:30 or 11:00) and finding their own substitute from the list of other acolytes when they won’t be able to come.
-
Arrive at least 15 minutes before the service so they can robe and receive any last minutes instructions from the Acolyte Coordinator and lead the Processional.
-
Attend an acolyte training meeting in August with one of their parents to learn about and practice what we do as acolytes and to learn about worship.
-
Have parents assist them in arriving on time on Sundays.
