Youth Choir

(Grades 6-12)

09_Choir_Tour_2008_-_Boston_and_New_York_204.jpgThe Highland Park United Methodist Church Youth Choir (grades 6-12) is open to ALL the youth of the church. No audition or choral experience is necessary. They meet each Sunday evening during the school year from 4:30 - 5:45 p.m. for rehearsal, and they share their voices in Sunday morning worship services on a regular basis.

Each February, in addition to special concerts throughout the year, the music ministry sponsors a fantastic musical revue, Dessert Theater, to raise funds for the summer Youth Choir Tour. This show is a huge favorite every year and the money that is raised helps enable the choir to travel and share their Christian witness with church members and various mission outreach programs. Past trips have included New York, Massachusetts, Georgia, New Mexico, Arizona, Seattle, Florida, British Columbia, and Washington, D.C. This year the Youth Choir will be touring L.A. and San Diego!!!

If you are a young person who loves to sing and is interested in joining this fabulous group of young Christian adults, please call us! We would love to have you be a part of our choir family!

Why We Love HPUMC Youth Choir

Youth Choir has provided me an opportunity to serve God in a new and different way, and has allowed me to form long lasting friendships with people of all ages."
- Anne Rose, Outgoing Co-President 2007-08

The Youth Choir is a dynamic group of young adults enthusiastic about praising God, be it early on a Sunday morning, a festive Christmas concert, or a fun-filled summer choir tour. Our fabulous director Caitlin and witty and brilliant accompanist Chris keep rehearsals lively while preparing us for upcoming Sunday worship services, special concerts, and the much-loved Dessert Theater. Coming from many different schools and parts of Dallas, diversity is an integral part of our choir, with each of our members bringing a different talent, trait, and personality to the group. This diversity, however, forms a choir bonded by near-family ties and dedicated to each other, to our community, to praising God, and to our choir."
- Elise McDonald, Co-President 2008-09

I LOVE the Youth Choir because everyone gets along so well, and we make a great team! Great friends and great music all tied together with the goal of glorifying the Lord in everything we do. Who could ask for anything better."
- Anne Marie Albachiara, Junior

I love Youth Choir because it's a great place for weekly fellowship, music, and worship. We form a tight-knit group through fun activities and ordinary practices. It's a diversely talented group with opportunities to grow into good leaders."
- Lyle McDonald, Junior

I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.
- Psalms 7:17
