The Louisiana United Methodist Disaster Response Ministry was established in September, 2005, in response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita with a grant given by UMCOR. UMCOR , United Methodist Committee on Relief, is a not-for-profit humanitarian organization that responds when the community is not capable of handling the effects of civil or natural disaster alone. Since its establishment, the Louisiana Response Ministry has helped more than 78,336 clients, partnered with more than 60,623 volunteers, and offered more than 2.6 million hours of labor.
Mission teams will fly into New Orleans and then drive one and one-half hours south to Dulac, Louisiana. There they will stay in dorm accommodations and go out each day to help rebuild the homes that were damaged from Katrina, most recently. We are looking forward to watching what happens in this beautiful environment with these beautiful people.

Most of the meals are included in the trip cost.
