Mission
To cooperate with people in need so they may reach their God-given potential and sustain themselves with dignity.

Services/ Poverty prevention programs

CareerWorks Career Development Center
Trains clients for employment by developing skills and providing a solid foundation of knowledge that allows a person to discover his or her “field of fascination” and make a career a reality.

Food Pantry
Provides 200,000 pounds of food each year to families in crisis.  By using a “client-choice” model (clients choose their own food much like a grocery store), wasted food is eliminated and client dignity is preserved.

The CLIMB (Changing Lives Improving Minds and Bodies) After-School Program
Provides a safe after school environment where at-risk children and youth can experience personal growth through an integrated curriculum that develops and strengthens the educational, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of a child’s life.

SMARTBody
An intentional effort to address obesity in low-income families through physical activity and health education.

Community Computer Center
Through an eight-week course, the Computer Center teaches clients valuable computer skills that are necessary in today’s information age.

Back-To-School Shoe Drive
Each August, The Wilkinson Center and Payless Shoe Source team up to let children and their parents choose new shoes and socks from the Payless Shoe store on Greenville Ave.

Art Works
Adults and children build a sense of self-worth as they produce works of art. Art classes require students to think analytically and to express their emotions in a positive manner.

The food pantry opens the first Saturday of each month to serve working clients who cannot come in for food during the week.

Adopt a Family Holiday Program
