Holy Land - but what makes it holy?

Whether you have been, are planning to go, or are just curious about the Holy Land, you are invited to come hear from Dr. Marcie Lenk (read bio below). Marcie will focus this lecture on "Land and God: what makes it holy?" She will also be sharing information about a year long cohort she will be leading along with Rev. Phil Dieke, which will culminate in a "Hike the Holy Land" trip in 2021.

The Place - Understanding the Bible:

What will the world be like in 2000 years? Will humanity be struggling with the same issues then that we are now? For over 2000 years the Bible has been a source of wisdom, guidance, and inspiration. Yet the question persists, what does the Bible have to teach us in a modern context? We will spend 12 weeks reading ancient scriptures together through the lens of our modern context. We'll grow in our understanding of God, one another, and the Bible as a whole as we study selected passages from the Old and New Testaments.

Tuesdays, August 27 - November 19
6:30 - 8:00 pm, Youth Basement
