HELPS International is a non-denominational Christian organization committed to assisting the indigenous people of Guatemala through programs in education and literacy, medicine and health care, and projects of practical social concern. HELPS & HPUMC have been in partnership since 2009.

Open to: Adults 21+ and Children 13+ with parent/guardian
Cost: $1,950 (includes airfare)
Type of work: participants will work alongside local residents and experienced craftsmen to install stoves in homes and schools. HELPS International developed the “ONIL” Stove; a durable stove that minimizes smoke and burns, and reduces wood use by 73%.
Lodging: Participants will stay at a local hotel with meals provided which are safe for our consumption
Risks: none outside of inherent risk of mission work/international travel
