EASTER AT HPUMC: HOPE RESURRECTED

When Jesus resurrected, so did hope. On Easter, we honor the unimaginable sacrifice that our Savior made for us, and the miracle that happened just three days later. The stone was rolled away, and out of the tomb came hope—for new life and a future with God. There’s no better cause for celebration! Join us for Holy Week as we reflect on the events leading up to the miracle, then honor that He is Risen on Easter Sunday.

Palm Sunday

Sunday, March 24 | 8:30 am to Noon
Holy Week starts with Palm Sunday. It's the Sunday before Easter, when we celebrate, as they did so many years ago, Jesus entering Jerusalem for the very last time, as he makes his way to the cross.

Maundy Thursday

Thursday, March 28 | 7 pm | Sanctuary
Also known as “Holy Thursday,” Maundy Thursday is a time to remember the events leading up to and immediately following the crucifixion of Jesus. “Maundy” comes from the Latin word meaning “mandate” or “commandment,” reminding us of Jesus' command to love and serve one another.

Good Friday

Friday, March 29 | Noon Sanctuary | 7 pm Cornerstone | Both Services Streaming Online
This is a day that proclaims God's purpose of loving and redeeming the world through the cross of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is a “good” day because, through Jesus’ death, God closed the gap between Him and us. Each of these services will also be available online.

Holy Saturday Easter Vigil

Saturday, March 30 | 8:30 to 9:30 pm | Cox Chapel
The Easter vigil tells the story of God’s saving acts throughout history, culminating in the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This in-person service held in Cox Chapel celebrates God’s grace through the symbols of light, word, water, and the heavenly banquet.

Sunrise & Cornerstone Outdoors Services

Join us for our Easter Sunrise service at 6:45 am in Arden Forest featuring the Cornerstone band. There will also be a 9:30 am Cornerstone Outdoors Easter service. Chairs will be provided. All services will be available online, via hpumconline.org, our app, Apple TV, or Roku.

Sanctuary Worship

Join us in HPUMC's historic Sanctuary for a traditional Easter worship service at 8, 9, 10, and 11 am services featuring a choir, organ, and brass. We will also be holding 5 and 7 pm Saturday Easter services in the Sanctuary for those looking to celebrate the night before. Services will also be available online, via hpumconline.org, our app, Apple TV, or Roku.

Easter Offering

100% of the gifts received for our Easter offering support our Outreach partners to help feed and clothe our neighbors, promote justice, and lift people out of poverty—all while serving our greater mission of helping people become deeply devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Together, we can spread the hope of Christ and make a true difference for our neighbors who need our help.

Holy Week Devotional

For thousands of years, Christians around the world have commemorated the days between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. Known as Holy Week, these days present an opportunity to reflect on the final week of Jesus’ life, leading up to his miraculous resurrection—and we have a new eight-day devotional to help you do just that. With Scripture readings, along with a reflection and questions for each day, we want to help you honor Jesus with your heart and mind as Easter Sunday approaches. Our hope is that you are able to carve out time in your regular rhythm to experience Easter in all of its glory.
