Church at the Square

Church at the Square

CATS will not be holding a worship service on Sunday. Lunch will continue to be served.

Join us for worship at the CitySquare Opportunity Center, 1610 South Malcolm X Boulevard, Dallas TX, 75226. Sunday school at 10:00 am, worship at 11:00 am and Lunch at 12:00 pm.

Church at the Square is a casual, multi-cultural, multi-generational, spirit-filled service aimed at serving and helping our neighbors living in and around the Cottages at Hickory Crossing; however, it is open to ALL.

Each Sunday, we worship and communion together, and afterward, we share a meal together. The vision for CATS is to become a church that embraces a culture where people from all socioeconomic backgrounds can come together and worship in harmony. The service is one hour long, from 11:00 am to noon. Immediately afterward, lunch is provided for our neighbors.

We believe relationships are transformative. In an attempt to fully invest in a relationship with the congregation and to bridge the gap between Sundays, CATS hosts a mid-week "check-up". Based on the Wesleyan small group tradition of asking “How is it with your soul?” we spend Wednesdays from 10:00 to 11:00 am listening, sharing, and praying in the courtyard of CitySquare’s Opportunity Center.

If you are looking for a ministry where you can both worship with and serve those in need each Sunday, then come and connect with us at Church at the Square. We are focused on treating our neighbors the way Jesus treated people — like family. This type of love and respect shows the power of community and relationship.

Rev. Cottrell King serves as the campus pastor with support from the HPUMC’s worship, music, communications, and tech departments.

This worship community is an important part of our partnership with CitySquare as we work to alleviate spiritual and asset poverty in Dallas. We hope that by joining forces with CitySquare, we can work in Dallas to bring not only help for those who need to provide for their family’s physical needs but also hope through faith in Jesus Christ.

We think the church can be an agent for change in a broken world. We also want people who may not feel comfortable in a traditional church environment to be able to experience worship in a place they feel at home.
